For the Weekend Warriors, Weirdos & Whackjobs - Issue #62
The 4th Friday of 2025 and I'm already struggling with these subtitles...
This week, we invited friends aboard the pirate ship! Mark and Vanessa Piper of Distant Field Labs joined us for an OIA (New Zealand’s Official Information Act Request) lesson with What are the Numbers? If you haven’t taken time to read their insightful article, add it to your weekend to-do. It’s well worth your time.
It’s important to us at Bullshit Hunting to serve you diversified content that reaches across borders. We appreciate your support as we welcome guest contributors into the madness—we’ll be bringing you more!
What Kennedy Recommends
There are a select number of podcasts and books I’ve been burning out for years, narrated by people who have somehow found the courage to say, “Hello, my name is ______, and I’ve made some massive fucking mistakes.” As a chronic mistake-maker, this content soothes me like my doctor-ordered sleeping pills. This is one of those books, providing insight into a brain that functions questionably at times—a shared experience between Ms. Bamford and myself.
I read “Sure, I’ll Join Your Cult” when it was released in 2023, but recently purchased the audiobook to revisit on a flight. A goddamn delight. Maria takes us on a wander through grief, comedy, and what it means to be a human being who will not recover from trauma, cannot heal their mental illnesses or find a new reality, but who chooses to “just keep living, kid,” even when they’re not particularly inclined to this mortal coil. And because she seamlessly weaves through hilarity and emotional gut punches, it’s a comedy nerds’ dream. Available anywhere you purchase books!
And now that you’ve had your fill, we wish you a bullshit free weekend.
Much love,
Your Bullshit Hunting Crew
