For the Weekend Warriors, Weirdos & Whackjobs - Issue #48
Ask yourself what went wrong, and more importantly, are you a Heather?
A slower week for us pirates at Permanent Record Research, still recovering from a gruelling week of testifying, rectifying and investigating the shit out of numerous cases at home and abroad.
This week saw our intrepid
write an excellent post on the pain and power of names in lawsuits and investigations: Are you a Heather? You won’t be shocked to hear that a corpse enthusiast will, again, walk you to the obituary section of your local newspaper. She’s weird like that. What Justin Listened To: What Went Wrong
What went wrong? God, if I haven’t asked myself this question so many times in vain—tailing a truly vast cornucopia of personal failures I may add—I almost skipped this podcast entirely. However, I noticed their episode on Beetlejuice and I had to give it a shot.
This podcast digs into the behind-the-scenes-of-the-almost-not-behind-the-scenes, with hosts Lizzie Bassett and Chris Winterbauer spiralling you into the funny, dark and often unsettling tour of this famous Tim Burton flick.
From the podcast show description:
Lydia dies in a fire at the hands of a winged homicidal maniac?! ‘Beetlejuice’ (1988) started off as a gruesome, offbeat horror film, but it became the quirky classic we know and love thanks to Tim Burton, script doctor Warren Skaaren, an incredible production team, and the Beetle-Guy himself: Michael Keaton. Find out why missing her audition got Catherine O’Hara her part, how Harry Belafonte’s music made it into the final cut, why Michael Keaton almost didn’t take the job and so much more.Â
I have moved on to listening to to more episodes and I am thoroughly enjoying them. Give it a spin!
