For the Weekend Warriors, Weirdos & Whackjobs - Issue #61
*They're baaaack* (said in the tone of Poltergeist, of course)
This week our shadow-chaser-in-chief,
laid down another banger of a how-to with: A Free OSINT Lesson: Why RUMINT is the Unsung Hero of Intelligence Gathering. In it, MJ teaches us the value of following rumour, innuendo and creeping through the same digital air ducts as the people you’re trying to understand. Where data, hard timelines and story arcs stumble, the rumour mill can often be the place to find your next breadcrumb.Ya like jazz? Slap the button, slap the bass or play some Ron Burgundy-style jazz flute. Don’t be shy about it - whatever you do.
What Justin Recommends: The Frighteners
The main boss bitch in charge,
came to our pet-filled domicile and in her hand was a book, wrapped in a mysterious bit of string, perhaps from her last victim’s binding. Seeing as I cry when people give me sappy cards, and knowing she’s a sadist who enjoys watching me cry, the book sat for at least 30 seconds until I could see her leave.I pulled the string, opened the book, and barely put it down from that moment forward. Peter Laws is a minister, fiction-writer and cataloguer of the occult from the United Kingdom that has a gift for the written word and for telling colourful stories from both the light and dark ends of world.
I can’t recommend this book enough as you get to climb into Laws’ backpack as he carts you from Transylvania to bone-strewn crypts in Rome. Along the way you’ll be given an incredibly vibrant history of the macabre.
25/5 stars. Go read this immediately.
Now to submit this string for DNA testing…
And now that you’ve had your fill, we wish you a bullshit free weekend.
Much love,
Your Bullshit Hunting Crew
